A) Confidence interval. Each of these illustrations shows 128 samples drawn from an infinite population, with each sample having a size of n=15n=30, or n=60. For each sample, a confidence interval for the mean is computed at a level of 1-α, and is displayed in one color if it contains the population mean, and in another color if it does not. If you look closely, you'll notice that each point differs from the others in both shape and size, illustrating that each data point is unique.
